the Physics of Consciousness: In the Quantum Field, Minerals, Plants, Animals and Human Souls

Well well well. It’s been a minute. At the crux of my lapse in engagement of any type of book or reading material for most of the summer, has been a near manic level of activity because the New York Knicks won a championship (during my birth month, #geminiseason) after a 53 year drought! + Haiti ended a 52 year FIFA World Cup drought….. all jam-packed into the start of the summer! Sprinkle in some rainbows for pride month and my goodness it was a debaucherous June! I engaged in plenty of sports voyerism but reading was nowhere to be found.

Fast forward to July, as I forced my mind to settle down, and began editing 1 of 4 papers in progress. I still found no time for any of the 42 books on my reading list.

And now midway through August, I have caved in to actually re-reading a book from April that I devoured as an audiobook. Enter in Ivan Antic’s “the Psychics of Consciousness”. Two snaps and a twist.

I’ve come to realize I prefer to read words rather than have them read to me, and I interacted with the ideas in this book quite uniquely through the lens of having to read what the author was saying. Antic was as serious as one could be while diving into the spiritual realm of concepts that are widely considered scientific. I deeply appreciated that he questioned the scientific method, or rather the premise of what we deem as real/valid or not based on a specific standard system that he pokes, prods, questions and refutes early on in the book. Rather than questioning “how does matter and the brain produce consciousness” he offers out ideas, devoid of the scientific method, that allows the reader to wonder how we have been taught systemically to think about how to measure, observe and deem something as real or not.

This is the first book I’ve encountered that challenges the premise of what’s happening in the background concerning what it means financially and as a global pillar to have all human beings on this planet follow a specific model to determine what is deemed as ‘real’ or not. Phenomenal, highly recommend for conspiracy theorists especially!
